Can we just take a gander at this for a moment.

And to be fair, that quote is from the Old Testament which had a lot of rules and regs that humanity was deemed relieved of post Jesus. Not to say EVERYTHING in the Old Testament was relieved, but animal sacrifice and circumcision aren’t deal breakers anymore. But however you define it, I prefer Matthew 22’s version of how Christian’s ought to act:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
ie. if you identify as Christian, love God and don’t be a dick.
Clear discrimination against men. Rather nice to see that this is on someone’s news, especially how men are viewed in society as all being potential pedophiles and rapists.
They’d never have suspected my rapist. Women don’t rape kids, you know. That bruising, those internal injuries? Just ‘an accident’.
Too many victims of rape are being swept under the rug because society doesn’t view certain types of rapists as rapists, i.e. women.
Really well done report, good mix of statistics and basic reasoning. Would have been interesting to see what the % of female perpetrators is (I don’t know that figure for Australia) put in too but raising the issue in the first place is always good to see

Daaaamn. Watch this 9-yr old student stand up and spit hot fire at a mass rally against the Chicago Mayor and Public School administration who are trying to close his and dozens of other schools in mostly non-white neighborhoods.
Crying. Black and brown children shouldn’t have to grow up so fast. This kid is absolutely amazing, but I wish we lived in a world where he could just play with his friends, hang out with his family or spend time worrying about if that girl down the street has a crush on him, instead of having to take on the responsibility of advocating for himself and other black, brown and low income childrens’ education. POC kids can never just be kids, man.
Bolded that last sentence for the cot damn truth.

Wearing a hijab isn’t inherently liberating – but neither is baring one’s breasts. What is liberating is being able to choose either of these things. It’s pretty ludicrous to think that oppression is somehow proportional to how covered or uncovered someone’s body is. Both sides of this argument present a shallow understanding of women’s empowerment, which only drowns out the substantive challenges facing all women – issues that cannot be encapsulated in a debate about a piece of fabric.
This is happening right now in my country Venezuela. All around the country Militaries are killing people just because we are defending what is Good. We want justice! We were doing a pacific protest and then they came and started to shoot and use gas against people and the government says that people need to show respect for the militaries. People are being seriously injured and murdered. Respect? Democracy? Peace? NICOLAS YOU ARE NOT MY PRESIDENT YOU COWARD.

Let’s add to that that no International entity recognizes the election’s results and are asking for a recount, yet the CNE allowed Maduro to take the oath (wich was supposed to be on the 19th). The CNE’s president is leaving the country now.
